Areas of Expertise

Care Experience, Financial Need and Transitions to Adulthood

Specialist expertise in understanding how financial need, poverty, and access to resources shape the transition to adulthood for care-experienced and estranged people. Drawing on original doctoral research and the development of the Care-Experienced People Minimum Income Standard (CEP MIS), this work explores what is needed to create stability, safety, participation, and wellbeing during adulthood.

Care Experience, Estrangement and Belonging

Supporting organisations to better understand the experiences of care-experienced and estranged people and the barriers they may face within education, employment, services, and communities. This work focuses on creating environments where people experience belonging, safety, participation, and the opportunity to thrive.

Care Experience and Estrangement in Education

Supporting schools, colleges, universities, and training providers to strengthen belonging, participation, and success for care-experienced and estranged learners. This includes understanding the role that relationships, stability, financial pressures, and institutional culture play in educational outcomes.

Trauma-Informed Research, Policy and Practice

Applying trauma-informed principles across research, evaluation, learning, and organisational development. This work recognises the interaction between trauma, poverty, inequality, and access to resources, supporting organisations to create conditions that promote safety, stability, and meaningful participation.

Lived Experience Leadership (LEX)

Moving beyond consultation towards meaningful participation and shared decision-making. This work supports organisations to value lived experience as expertise and create opportunities for people to influence strategy, policy, research, and service development.

Research, Evaluation and Participation

Designing and delivering trauma-informed, participatory, and mixed-methods research and evaluation that informs policy, practice, and systems change. Particular expertise includes co-production, lived experience engagement, and generating evidence that supports more effective and equitable services.
